What is Parent Coaching?
Parent coaching is a positive approach that focuses on the present and what is working within the family dynamic to help address parent challenges. I encourage parents to ignore all the “noise” and to let go of the “shoulds” of parenting so that they are able to chart their own course and create the family and home life they desire.
My Approach
I work in collaboration with parents using a practical and positive approach that draws on the collective and individual strengths of the family and focuses on what is working within the family dynamic. This allows us to find constructive solutions to everyday challenges and foster growth and confidence not only in a personal sense but in a parenting sense as well.

What Coaching is Like with Me
Coaching with me has a structure within which there is flexibility to meet the needs and preferred pace of the parent. Generally, parents meet with me for 8 to 10 sessions. Sessions last for 55 minutes and can be weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly.
Our first few sessions will be spent discussing the challenges you are currently facing and getting to know one another. We will explore in depth the individual and collective strengths of the family, what is currently working, and what your goals are as a person and a parent. We then will work collaboratively to effectively address your parenting challenges by leveraging those strengths and do a little “trial and error” experimentation to hit upon those things that appear to be most effective for you and your family. Once we’ve uncovered those strategies or approaches that work best and you’ve got confidence and conviction in yourself and your parenting, we’ll recognize the hard work done and celebrate all the great things that come with that effort.
